3 lunchs, 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts
After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your Kampala hotel at approximately 7:30 am for the scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes about six hours, with stops along the way, including the Equator, where you can take photographs and learn about this famous geographical landmark. You will also enjoy lunch in Mbarara town.
As you continue west, enjoy views of rolling hills, Ankole long-horned cattle, tea plantations, woodlands, and the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive at the park in the late afternoon and enjoy a short game drive en route to your lodge. Settle in, have dinner, and spend the night in the park.
Begin the day with tea or coffee before heading out on an early morning game drive along the park’s trails, including the Kasenyi area. This is one of the best regions for wildlife viewing, with opportunities to see Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, lions, and numerous bird species.
Return to your lodge for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. From the water, you may see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes along the shores, as well as birds such as malachite kingfishers and pink-backed pelicans.
Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out of your lodge. If time allows, you may choose an optional primate walk in the park before beginning the journey back to Kampala.
En route, stop at the Mpambire Drum Centre, where local artisans make traditional drums by hand. This is a great opportunity to learn about Ugandan craftsmanship and purchase authentic souvenirs. After lunch along the way, continue to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at your hotel in the evening.
